Thursday, Sept. 21 - 12:30pm Queen Elizabeth Plaza 600 Block Hamilton Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 2P1 Free This special edition of City Conversations is taking place as part of SFU Market Day, an event to convene SFU students, staff, and the broader downtown community around a celebration of local food. Before or after the conversation, browse the Downtown Market and meet over 30 farmers and producers who are there every Thursday until the end of the season. Come early for giant board games, and stay afterwards for a dance performance from SFU’s School for the Contemporary Arts. Additionally, the first 50 people to show their SFU identification at the market info tent will receive $5 in market money.

Bennett Library's Noonhour Reading Series presents contemporary writers reading in Special Collections & Rare Books each fall and spring semester. Internationally celebrated poet Lisa Robertson was born in Toronto, lived for many years in Vancouver and studied at SFU in the ‘80s and was assocated with the Kootenay School of Writing. Today she is a freelance poet, essayist, translator and teacher, and since 2004 has lived in the Gartempe River valley in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region of France. Special Collections is located in room 7100 on the 7th floor of the W.A.C. Bennett Library, SFU Burnaby. FREE! Refreshments will be served.
